With over 400 people in attendence and 80 different workshops, the Tear Down the Walls National Gathering, held on Nov. 1 - 3 in Tucson, Arizona, was a success!  The six people's power assemblies on Economic Justice, the Drug War, US Imperialism, Immigration, the Drug War, and the Prison-Industrial Complex proposed nationally coordinated days of action beginning in December and continuing through the New Year.  Watch this space and the web page of the Alliance for Global Justice at www.AFGJ.org for more information!

Join together with a multitude of activists from around the country on Nov. 1-3 to Tear Down the Walls of oppression. We all have many walls we are working to tear down: Wall Street, the US border wall, the Israeli separation wall, prison walls, the Pentagon militarism walls, Walmart, the walls of oppression by race, gender, ethnicity, personal identity – the list goes on. Among them are the walls that weaken our efforts, the walls between our separate movements. 

Hundreds of activists like you, grassroots organizations, fiscally sponsored projects of The Aliance for Global Justice (AfGJ), and peace and justice coalitions will come together in Tucson, AZ on November 1-3. The AfGJ’s sixty plus fiscally sponsored projects represent several separate, but overlapping, movements including the Latin America solidarity movement, the anti-war movement, the Occupy and economic justice movements, the immigrant and Palestinian rights movements, prison and police brutality and more. 

Tear Down the Walls National Gathering in Tucson, AZ, Nov. 1-3 will bring multiple movements to strategize and network together on how to build a more unified, powerful movement for transformational change in the US. The National Gathering is in beautiful Tucson during the best time of the year! The Gathering will be capped by our participation in Tucson’s famous All Souls Procession which regularly draws 20,000 participants and is a unique combo of solemn procession and Mardi Gras.
